Advantage Preschool and Child Care

Advantage Preschool in Ann Arbor is set in the Christian home of a certified teacher, offering an easy transition from home to school for your child, aged 2 ½ and older. Class sizes are never more than 6 students, providing your child with the individual attention they need and deserve. I send daily notes home to each parent, weekly newsletters, and quarterly-parent teacher conferences so that you have the most up-to-date, crucial information about your child’s day-to-day activities as well as his or her overall progress in the program.

Ann Arbor's Advantage Preschool provides a high-quality program that offers your child a structured environment with directed and non-directed activities.  This balanced program contains developmentally appropriate activities that will stimulate your child’s interest and foster his or her social-emotional, intellectual, creative, and physical growth.

While your child is here at Advantage Preschool, I will always be watching for “teachable moments” to expand each child’s abilities.  Your child will be encouraged to ask questions, think critically, problem solve, and share his or her thoughts and feelings with the teacher and other students.

Each day at Advantage Preschool also offers plenty of opportunities for children to express themselves creatively through arts and crafts, music, dance, and dramatic arts. We also love to cook!

We spend plenty of time outdoors (with sunscreen applied, of course) exercising and gaining new gross motor skills as we play.  Weather permitting, we strive to go outdoors at least once per day, often twice per day in the warmer months. Unless it is raining or below freezing, we will be outside daily!

The health and safety of your child is paramount at Advantage Preschool. I emphasize good personal hygiene and participate in Michigan’s  Food Program, which requires the use of USDA approved meals and snacks.  I am very particular about the foods we eat here at Advantage Preschool, and feed your children as I do my own family.

Advantage Preschool has developed Fire, Tornado, and Serious Illness/Injury procedures and maintains current CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens training. We routinely hold fire and tornado drills and learn about safety.
